Worksop is about twelve miles north of our base up the A60, and we test homes, rentals and businesses across S80 and S81, including Manton, Gateford, Kilton, Rhodesia and Shireoaks.

Every EICR is carried out to BS 7671 by Westgate's own Level 3 qualified electricians. We never sub-contract, so the person who tests your property is the person who signs the report. Prices are fixed by property size and include VAT and the written report. The full price list is on this page.

Housing in Worksop and what we usually find

Worksop has a large stock of Victorian and early 20th-century terraces near the town centre and the canal, former colliery housing at Manton and Shireoaks, post-war council estates, and newer estates at Gateford.

  • Terraces near the centre are often let and often have older lighting circuits, missing bonding, and older consumer units.
  • Former colliery housing at Manton and Rhodesia was often modernised under council or Coal Board schemes. The rewire may now be 40-plus years old.
  • Gateford's newer homes generally test well, but landlords still need an EICR once the original certificate is five years old.

None of these findings is automatic. Every circuit is tested on the day and coded on its own merits: C1 for danger present, C2 for potentially dangerous, C3 for improvement recommended, and FI where something needs further investigation. Any C1 is made safe before we leave. Read more in our guide to EICR codes.

Landlords in Worksop

Bassetlaw District Council is the local housing authority for Worksop. Private landlords need a satisfactory EICR at least every five years, a copy for tenants, and remedial work done within 28 days if needed. As an S80 address doesn't look like a Nottinghamshire one, some landlords assume we don't cover it. We do, at the same fixed prices.

See our landlord EICR page for the full list of legal duties, or the HMO EICR page if the property is let to three or more people who share facilities.
